Encoding Guide
This guide will teach you how to encode in the basic way, but to get the best out of encoding you have to play with all the filters.
First we will have to download the following programs: Virtualdub, LameMP3, XVID and this zip file which contains all the filters you need.First open Virtualdub and go to file then open video file, alternatively you can press Ctrl+O:
Then select your video file:
Now select filters and press add, alternatively you can press Ctrl+F:
Now pick smart deinterlace and press OK:
Pick frame and field differencing, blend and motion threshold of 10, leave the rest on default and press OK:
Press add again, and this time select smart resize and change the width to 640 and the height to 480:
Now go to audio and select full processing mode:
Go back to audio and select compression, then select lame mp3 44100hz 128kbps CBR:
Now go to video and select compression, alternatively you can press Ctrl+P:
Select XVID and then press configure:
Select Two Pass 1st pass:
Go to file and save as avi, alternatively you can press F7:
Select a file name, then tick don't run this job now, then finally press save:
Go back to video and select Two pass 2nd pass then press calc:
In target size type in 178000, type in your film length, then select the fps i.e. either PAL or NTSC, then select avg bitrate MP3CBR 128:
Repeat the step for saving the file i.e. go to file, save as avi, then select the same file name, and tick the don't run this job now and save.
Now you're ready to encode, go to file, then job control, alternatively you can press F4:
Then press start:
